The Language of English in Gernata High School

Gernata High School is the educational home for 447 students who are divided among fourteen classes starting with the ninth grade and ending with twelfth grade, with an opportunity to class 13. Students come from different cities and villages in the region to have an exceptional learning experience in a warm inviting school climate and to be taught by a professional staff of experienced teachers.

The English language is highly valued and prioritized in Gernata High School, and therefore, students are constantly motivated to fulfill their potential and enhance their competence in the language. The English staff consists of three well-equipped teachers: Kawthar Mustafa, Manar Amara and Aida Boutros who are led by their coordinator Yasmine Abed Yassin.

In ninth and tenth grade, students are provided with basic educational tools and knowledge in the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, in an attempt to apply the English curriculum of the state of Israel. In the eleventh grade, students are divided into groups of 3, 4 and 5 points according to their previous achievements. Every student is given a chance to step forward in the scale of points in order to increase his/her eligibility for academic studying.

Gernata sheds the light on the importance of reaching the maximum achievements in the Bagrut examinations through creating annual pedagogical plans that aim to enhance the language and create a supporting joyful environment.
